About This Quote

When we live in a society that has an idea of how we should live, we tend to focus on the things we don't have. We often overlook the good things in our lives because they don't fit the mold. For example, I like to travel. I like to go out.

But, if you asked me what my favorite thing about traveling is, I'd say it's meeting people and talking with them. I like talking with others and sharing my experiences with them. The funny thing is, if you ask me what my favorite thing about traveling is, I'd tell you that it's eating at local restaurants and trying different foods.

If you asked me what my favorite thing about traveling is, I'd tell you that it's spending time with family and relatives that I haven't seen in a while. It's seeing old friends and making new ones. It’s not having to pay for hotel rooms because I'm staying with someone or in someone else's apartment or condo or condo unit.

When we focus on the things we don't have rather than the things we do have, happiness can slip away quite easily.
